Experienced Forklift Operator

Operating two major post-harvest facilities in Te Puke and Te Puna, DMS also manages kiwifruit and avocado orchards on behalf of it's growers. With 30+ seasons under our belt, the standard gets set high, and that’s why more and more growers refuse to settle for anything less than DMS.

We're now looking for an experienced forklift operator to join our team at DMS Pukepack in Te Puke.

Your job

Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move, load, and unload goods in our kiwifruit packhouse environment.

• Unloading goods from delivery trucks as required
• Supplying packaging and other goods to packing sheds and tray makers.
• Product handling from arrival on site, into Coolstores and/or Bin Tip areas
• Accurately loading product on trucks as per orders received

Follow all health and safety procedures and equipment maintenance and work with other packhouse staff to ensure smooth operational flow.

This is a permanent, full time role with additional hours expected during peak kiwifruit season (March to June).  The role is hourly paid with a range between $28-32 per hour depending on experience.

About You

• Valid forklift license with at least 3 years relevant forklift operation and inventory experience
• Experience within the kiwifruit industry or other fast-paced, complex environment
• Basic literacy and numeracy required for documentation and record-keeping
• Good verbal communication and ability to provide clear direction and support to a diverse workforce
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good physical fitness and ability to lift moderate weights
• Flexibility with work hours and days during our peak kiwifruit season, including weekends and nights
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, and at other times during employment as per our drug and alcohol policy
