Health and Safety Advisor

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team and play a key role in strengthening our health and safety culture across our packhouses, orchards and wider business.

This is a hands-on role suited to a confident H&S professional who enjoys working alongside people at all levels, from operational teams and supervisors through to managers and orchard teams. You’ll have the opportunity to influence, investigate, educate and improve but most importantly, you will be helping ensure our people go home safe every day.

About the role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will be working very closely with our packhouse and orchard teams, actively participating in the planning, implementation and monitoring of our H&S systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and improving our health and safety systems, processes and initiatives.
  • Working with managers, supervisors and teams to identify hazards and manage risks.
  • Completing health and safety audits and following up on actions.
  • Investigating accidents and incidents, looking at what happened and how we can prevent it happening again.
  • Providing practical health and safety advice to managers and teams.
  • Keeping risk, hazard and incident information up to date.
  • Supporting a positive safety culture and encouraging our people to get involved in health and safety.
  • Managing contractor inductions and making sure all contractors have the right information before starting work.
  • Coordinating required training and licences, such as First Aid, Fire Warden and Forklift training.
  • Keeping training records and our training matrix accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting health and safety projects, meetings, reporting and seasonal reviews.

There will be an expectation to share being on call for Drug and Alcohol testing requirements all year round. Additionally, our packhouses run 24/7 during our main season (approx. February – June) so flexibility will be required to meet people when they are on shift if any follow up investigation is necessary.
