We're now looking for an energetic, HR all-rounder to join our team at DMS Pukepack in Te Puke.

 

Your job

The HR team supporting the DMS business is made of the HR Manager and a HR Advisor based at each of our packhouses.  Our wider team includes the H&S, Payroll, Catering and RSE functions of our business.  Although the HR Advisors reports centrally to the HR Manager, their day-to-day relationships and interactions are with the site management and administration teams, as well as the wider packhouse and orchard teams.   Collaboration, consistency and connections with these teams are crucial.

 

As HR Advisor, you'll use your HR generalist skills to support managers, with a particular focus on the recruitment and onboarding of both seasonal and permanent staff where you will work very closely with the site administration teams to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right times!  You'll also lead and support processes and discussions relating to performance, development, retention, separation and employment relations; helping to coach managers and supervisors to effectively lead and motivate their teams.

 

You'll need to be comfortable in HRIS and other related systems, as we drive our people and business to use online tools and resources.  We currently use Ready Workforce for HRIS and payroll, Ready Recruitment for our recruitment and onboarding processes, and CultureAmp for performance and engagement with development to come.  You'll also use Onside for H&S incident and hazard reporting and NetSuite for our purchasing functions.  Experience in same or similar systems is an advantage, but will be included in any on-job training to get you up and running effectively.

 

You'll be required to complete oral drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our Drug & Alcohol policy and relevant standards. this includes being rostered onto an on-call testing roster/rotation.  Our packhouse operations operate 24/7 during peak seasons (March to June), therefore flexibility to work outside of normal hours and weekends will be required.

 

About you

  • Friendly and approachable, customer-focused manner
  • Good all round knowledge of HR processes and relevant legislation (further development can be provided where identified)
  • Comfortable with a matrix reporting structure
  • Experience in recruitment (bulk and/or seasonal recruitment preferred) with strong attention to detail
  • Operates in a highly confidential manner and role models behaviors that align with our DMS Values
  • Able to manage your own workload and juggle multiple priorities
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work with a diverse workforce
