The Role:

As Orchard Manager at DMS Te Puna, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of our orchard operations—leading seasonal work, managing teams, and delivering great results for our growers. From winter pruning through to harvest, you’ll oversee it all while working closely with orchard owners, contractors, and the wider DMS team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading and supporting orchard teams through all seasonal tasks.
  • Delivering orchard performance targets—fruit size, dry matter, packout, and more.
  • Managing budgets, contractor performance, and health & safety compliance.
  • Using digital tools like the Onside App for orchard visits, inductions, and NetSuite for purchase orders.
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with orchard owners and team members.
  • Attending orchard manager meetings and industry field days.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience managing kiwifruit orchards or similar horticultural operations.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
  • A solutions-focused attitude and calm approach under pressure.
  • Full NZ driver’s licence (off-road competency a bonus).
  • Flexibility to work varied hours during seasonal peaks.
  • Grow Safe certification and a horticultural qualification (preferred).
