Production Engineer

We're looking for an energetic and hands-on Production Engineer to join our team at DMS Pukepack in Te Puke!

Your job

As the Production Engineer, you’ll help the Engineering/Maintenance team to ensure projects and tasks relating to the site and plant is completed with a high quality of workmanship and in a timely manner. There will be exposure to a wide range of equipment from older mechanical fruit handling equipment to some of the latest automated Kiwifruit handling equipment.

You will be involved with in house manufacturing projects for future developments and you will work closely with other members of the team to regularly monitor and maintain site machinery as required. You will be required to react to breakdowns situations in a timely manner to reduce production downtime. You will also work closely with production operators to provide a turnkey system assisting the wider team to achieve common goals and contribute any ideas you have for efficiency improvements.

About you

• Relevant qualification or experience in maintenance or engineering.
• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and automated equipment.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Great communication skills and happy to be a team player.
• Passionate about delivering a high standard of work.

Our packhouse operations operate 24/7 during peak seasons (March to June), therefore flexibility to work outside of normal hours and weekends will be required.
