Site Manager - DMS Te Puna

The secret to DMS’s success is having passionate growers and a working reputation that attracts the very best people. Operating two major post-harvest facilities in Te Puna and Te Puke, DMS also manages kiwifruit and avocado orchards on behalf of it's growers.

With 30+ seasons under your belt, the standard gets set high, and that’s why more and more growers refuse to settle for anything less than DMS.

Due to internal promotion you have the opportunity to join our motivated and successful team at DMS Te Puna, packing both kiwifruit and avocados throughout the year and situated in the heart of Te Puna.

Your job

As the Site Manager, you'll be leading a team of experienced and passionate people covering all aspects of packhouse and coolstore operations.  Your planning abilities and drive to meet production targets will keep the site focused on grower outcomes and a focus on health and safety and our people will ensure staff are motivated and engaged, driving safety, quality and performance equally.

Reporting to and working closely with the Post-Harvest Operations Manager, you'll set production budgets and other targets, creating plans to enhance operations and achieve projected growth for the site.

During our main kiwifruit season, March to June, we operate our packhouses 24/7 so there will be an expectation to work extended and sometimes different hours or days to ensure you're supporting all shifts and meeting business requirements.

About you

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience leading and motivating production teams is essential.  Experience in a post-harvest/packhouse environment will help you understand the industry, our people and the pressures faced during busy seasonal periods.

Your strong analytical focus and problem-solving capacity will ensure the site is kept on track with targets and help identify areas for improvement.

Communication is key!  Leading and motivating a diverse team in experience, culture and age, as well as providing regular updates and reports at site and company leadership levels.

A full driver’s license is required.
